Posted 21 February 2013 1:19pm

The Australian Government announced on 17 February a plan to establish up to 10 Industry Innovation Precincts to bring together businesses, research institutions and universities, business service providers and government agencies to foster innovation and generate economic benefits for Australian industry. They will collaborate on identifying new business opportunities, deploying new technology, R&D and carrying out industry-led research projects.

The Government has also announced the appointment of an independent National Precincts Board led by Mr John Grill (former CEO of  resources and energy services company WorleyParsons) to advise the Government on the selection of precincts, and provide ongoing expertise and advice to ensure the precincts initiative is effective.

National Precinct Board members are drawn from across the business and research communities and we are pleased to announce that our CEO Dr Sarah Pearson has been appointed as one of the ten members, in recognition of her extensive experience in strategy, scientific research and innovation, across industry, academia and consulting.
